Day 32

What an incredible and interesting day!

I did not sleep well last night at all, for some reason. It took me forever to fall asleep and then I woke up at 3am, 4am, 4:30am, 5am, 5:30am, 6am, 6:30am, and finally at 7am I got out of bed and got ready for my day. I don't know why I didn't sleep well but today being full of exciting new adventures made up for the lack of sleep.

We got breakfast at the hostel and then got packed up to head to a place in Ometepe that has a natural spring. We were going to fish this morning but plans changed because we wanted to go to the spring when the sun was high in the sky. The name of this spring is Ojo de Agua, simply in english The Water's Eye. The water was crystal clear and cold even though the sun was blazing hot! It was so beautiful!
Ojo de Agua
It was such a beautiful sight to see and what was even more amazing was a scripture verse that they had right as you entered the springs. It was Psalms 24:1, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." What a beautiful scripture! Also it is very suitable for this place, because it is a natural spring, no man made it, only God. It stands in truth that no matter who makes what the earth is the Lord's! The world and everyone in the world! How awesome to be claimed by the King of kings!
Psalm 24:1
We were able to swim for awhile and just relax and soak in the sun and the beautiful scenery. After we were ready to leave we were off to lunch and this was around 1:30pm. We went to this place right near the spring and it was on a beach! It was a cute little restaurant with a beautiful view of the beach. We saw so many horses and cattle that would be brought down to the water to drink and cool off! It was pretty neat! The food was also very good! I had a fish filet and it was so delicious! :) Just a great lunch experience all around!

After lunch we headed back to the hostel to rest a little and then we were off again! By now it was around 4pm. We then headed off to go fishing! This was my first time ever fishing in my life, so it was definitely an experience! I had to be taught how to first of all work a fishing pole! It was pretty funny to watch me the first time trying to launch my bate into the water. Not the best first go, but on my third try I had gotten the trick and technic of it. It was so much fun and a great time of learning for me. It is also a very patient activity! We just sat there and waited and waited and waited some more until….. NOTHING! We caught nothing in the boat! So the captain took us to a little tiny island off of the big island and we stood on the beach for a little bit and did the same thing. Launched the bate into the water then waited and waited and waited some more until….NOTHING AGAIN! It was kind of disappointing but definitely worth the learning experience. So no fish for dinner for us tonight, but I learned how to fish and had great company! Also it was really neat to fish until the sun went down. We were able to see the sunset and the sky light up with lighting as we were riding back to the island.

Fishing!
It was a lot of fun for us and Esmir had a great time as well. He and the captain helped show us how to launch the bait in the water. They were great teachers. Overall our day was a wonderful one! We finished it off with dinner at the place we ate last night that is right next to our hostel. It was a lot of fun and I am so grateful that I could come on this little getaway and experience all the beauty of a different part of Nicaragua!
One of the volcanoes

The other volcano
You can't see from these pictures but the volcanoes are connected by land that was formed by both volcanoes. It was a pretty amazing view! Also both of these volcanoes are active! Crazy right! :) Nature is so fascinating how things form and how life is created! God is so amazing that He created life but then created it to flourish and grow in its own unique way!

Well I promised a lot of photos for y'all, I hope that this is enough! :) I am off to bed! We have to be up at 6am to leave and be back to Casa VISEDAL to start work again! :) Thanks for reading!

Until next time, buenas noches
